Michelle Rounsley, Admini- strativeAssistant, was promoted to Assistant Vice President. She joined Bank of Hays six years ago and has more than 15 years experience in the banking industry. She provides administrative support for the CEO and CFO, prepares monthly board reports and processes accounts pay- able, and provides customer support for safe deposit boxes. Curtis Goebel, Agricultural Loan Officer at Hanston State Bank, a branch of Bank of Hays, was named Vice President. He joined the Hanston location four years ago. He directs the loan process for agri- cultural, consumer, commercial and real estate loans for customers in the Hodgeman County area. Bank of Hays, 1000West 27th, is a community bank with offices in Hays, Hanston and Lewis. Nancy L. Smith, 65, of Iola, Kansas passed away peace- fully on Sunday March 11, 2012. Nancy worked for the KBA as an Administrative Assistant for the Hodge and Porter group in Andover. She provided 17 years of dedicated service before her illness and retirement in December 2010. Nancy will be greatly missed as she was loved by all who knew her. The dinner meeting was held at the Hudson Community Center, where Goebel was selected to succeed Julie Graber, First National Bank of Hutchinson, as President of the regional organization. Following his appointment, Goebel, an Assistant Vice President/Ag Loan Officer with Bank of Hays, introduced KBA’s statehouse lobbying team who presented an update on legislative activity at the Kansas statehouse.
