After 10 years of playing the tournament as a “shamble,” this year’s event was a traditional 4-person “scramble.” “Colbert Hills is a very challenging golf course and changing the format to a scramble made a lot of sense and was really a lot of fun,” said tournament namesake JimMaag, former Executive Vice President of the KBA. “I obviously love the new format. We finished second in our flight.” Also loving the new format was this year’s champions, Gary Yager, Mike Sobba, Tim Krueger and Mark Krueger, who shot an astonish- ing 20 under par, including an incredible -11 on the back nine tallying two eagles and seven birdies on the backside. “It was just one of those days,” said Yager.
