Trent gave an example of a blinking clock on his mother’s VCR. When the VCR was introduced it was considered a great new tool because you could set it to record and capture your favorite show when you weren’t home. The confusion on how to set the clock prevented many people like Trent’s mom from fully benefiting from the technol - ogy, however. The key to success when you roll out new technology such as mobile banking is TRAINING. All employees should be knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They can help customers have a successful first use of the technology which will help to modify the customer’s behavior. Persistence in effort and execution and stable applications will also assist in a suc- cessful roll out of your new technology. Bill Evers provided a demonstration of the Board Portal product that CSI has available to promote secure communications with the board of directors as well as in-house intranet programming. Then Major General Lee Tafanelli, the current Adjutant General of the Kansas National Guard, gave an overview of the large presence and significance that the Guard has in the state. Sean Payant wrapped up the education portion of the meeting with a dynamic presentation on “Leading for Tomorrow, Today.” He made it clear that a customer’s perception is their reality so we have to work hard to equip the staff with information to drive perception. Leadership must empower the staff to provide extraordinary service and provide training to execute remarkable performance levels. In short, equip staff with ex- pectations and hold them accountable. Not only will customers receive top level service, but turn-over will decrease with high job satisfaction. With 75 golfers registered for the Friday networking plan, it was a great day to meet new people and catch up with old friends.
