The PMIB invests the money available from the State General Fund and the hun- dreds of other state funds deposited with the State Treasurer. Lehman was first appointed by Governor Graves in 1998. Since then he has been reappointed every three years by Governors Sebelius, Parkinson, and Brown- back. He has served as PMIB Chairman for the last five years. “Serv - ing on the PMIB for the last 16 years has been a great experience and it has been an honor to serve under four Governors,” Lehman stated. “It has never been a politicized environment as the political winds have changed in Kansas, we’ve been able to keep Kansas governmen- tal funds safely invested.” John Lehman was the first banker ever to be appointed to the PMIB. Since then two others have joined him on the committee: Eric Meyers, First National Bank, Cunningham, and Casey Lair, First Neodesha Bank, Neodesha. LeeAnn Marker, First National Bank of Hutchinson Keith Hughes, CEO, First National Bank of Hutchinson is pleased to announce LeeAnn Marker was recently hired as Vice President, Commercial Lending. LeeAnn’s career in banking includes over eight years as a branch manager for a regional bank and over 11 years specializing in commercial lending. She will be responsible for expanding relationships with local businesses in the Reno County area. LeeAnn earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Kansas State University and has attended numerous financial industry courses. She was appointed to the Small Business Administration’s Advisory Council to the White House on Under- served Communities. LeeAnn currently serves as a board member of Cancer Council of Reno County and the Hutchinson Community Col- lege, College of Business & Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. She is a member of the Quest Center’s Loan Review Board. Darrell Cockrum, Johnson State Bank Darrell Cockrum was honored as Stanton County Man of The Year. He served as the President of The Johnson State Bank for 47 years, before his retirement, and he still serves as the Chairman of the Board. Dar- rell was recognized with the honorable title of Stanton County Man of The Year for his service on the Stanton County Hospital Board, the Methodist Church Board of Trustees, the Stanton County Historical Society Museum Board and his service as a former President of the Rotary Club, among others. Doug Wareham. Kansas Bankers Association Doug Wareham, EVP Government Relations for KBA was recently elected to serve a one-year term as President of the Kansas Society of Association Executives (KSAE). KSAE is a non-profit member - ship organization representing nearly 300 association management professionals with a stated mission to promote professional excellence in association management. Briefly... In Kansas Banking Robert Noller, First National Bank of Derby Robert “Bob” Noller, 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. In 1952, Bob started his career in banking and was appointed Presi- dent of First National Bank of Derby on June 1, 1984. Bob married Margaret Hancock on February 14, 1953 in Emporia, Kansas at the Friends Church. He was in the first class of the Derby Police Academy and a part of crimestoppers. He was also a Lions Club member since 1961 and enjoyed being a part of the Derby Community Theatre and church musicals as well as singing in his church choir. At Woodlawn United Method- ist Church, he had been a lay speaker since 1961. Nancy Shears, Retired- First National Bank, Hutchinson Nancy Shears served her community as Senior Vice-President of Marketing, Community and Public Relations at First National Bank for 33 years. She passed away on December 13, 2014 at 82 years of age. Nancy Served on the KBAMarketing Committee for many years. Other positions included past chairman and board member of the Hutchinson Salvation Army and member of Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, among others. Emery E. Fager, CoreFirst Bank, Topeka Emery E. Fager 97, died on December 28, 2014 at Brewster Place in Topeka, Kansas. During high school he worked part time at the Citizens State Bank in Osage City. He moved to Topeka in 1937 to work at the National Bank of Topeka and attend Washburn University. Following his service in the U.S. Army, he resumed his banking career and became chief executive officer of the Kansas State Bank in Overbrook, Kansas, a position he held for 14 years. He was very active in the Overbrook community and was involved in many social and community organizations including the First United Methodist Church of Overbrook, the Masonic Lodge and the Rotary Club. In December 1959, Emery moved his family to Topeka to start the Commerce State Bank now known as CoreFirst Bank & Trust. Emery was the bank’s first President and CEO and served on the Board of Directors. He had a long and distinguished banking career in Topeka and retired in July 2012 as Honorary Chairman of the Board.
