Calvin Coady, executive vice president, is succeeding Schriefer. Bankers' Bank of Kansas was founded in 1988 and is the leading correspondent bank in Kansas, serving 65% of all Kansas banks. BBOK is owned by Kansas banks and its sole purpose is to ensure banks have the resources needed to meet their goals. Bruce Schriefer has been the President/CEO for 18 years. During his tenure, Schriefer guided BBOK Bancshares, Inc. to a record-breaking $23 million in total capital and a book value per share of more than $1,000. His staff has grown from 15 to more than 50 employees offering a full line of correspondent services. In addition to his role at BBOK, he has been active in advocating for community banks at the state and national level, previously serving as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Bruce was also appointed to the initial FDIC advisory committee on community banking. Bruce plans to continue serving Kansas bankers through his role as vice chairman of BBOK Bancshares, Inc., and on several committees for the KBA, CBAK, ABA and Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka. Calvin Coady has been with BBOK for 16 years, most recently as the executive vice president. The marketing practices Coady has initiated has resulted in nearly 200 shareholders and 250 bank customers using 8.27 services per customer. Coady is also active on the state and national level to ensure that community banking continues to thrive. He currently serves on the Independent Commu- nity Bankers of America tax committee; the Community Bankers Association of Kansas executive council and Kansas legislative/reg- ulation committee; and the Kansas Bankers Association state affairs committee. Reed Peters retired from The First State Bank & Trust Co, Larned, on December 31, 2014. Peters celebrated 50 years in banking at the KBA CEO Forum in Colorado Springs, Co in August 2014. Peters has been active in the industry serving two terms on the KBA Board of directors and also as the KBA Treasurer. He also acted as the Chairman of the KBA Clinic Committee and also served on the Federal Affairs Committee for the KBA. He is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Madison and the ABA National Trust School. Peters started in banking in 1960 and moved to the First State Bank & Trust Co. of Larned in 1967 as a cashier. He served as the President/CEO & Chairman of the Board from 1968 – 2006. Since then he has served on the board of Directors for the bank as well as served as President & Chairman of First State Financial Corp. John E. Boyer, IV, a fifth-generation banker who is currently chairman of KANZA Bank in Kingman, Kansas, has been elected by the executive com- mittee of Friends of Traditional Banking to serve as the group's chairman for the 2015-2016 term. Boyer has been on FOTB's executive committee since 2012, and has a history of political advocacy for the banking in- dustry. He served on the ABA's Government Relations Administrative Council, and chaired the Kansas Bankers Association in 2010-2011. First National Bank of Hutchinson Announces Employee Promotions Keith Hughes, CEO, announces six promotions. Kris Doswell was promoted to Senior Vice President and Manager, Marketing and Training. Doswell is responsible for oversight of market- ing, including advertising and public relations, as well as internal training. She joined First National Bank of Hutchinson (The First) in 2007 as Vice President, Marketing. Doswell earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA and an MBA from The University of Kansas. She is a graduate of the Ameri- can Bankers Association, School of Bank Marketing and Management. Michael Holland was promoted to Senior Vice President and Manager, Real Estate Lending. Holland is responsible for oversight of all real estate lending in Reno and Sedgwick Counties. He joined The First in 2011 as Vice President, Real Estate Lending. Prior to joining The First, Michael had 17 years of real estate industry experience. He studied business administration at Hutchinson Community College and Kansas State University. Shannon Brand was promoted to Officer and Branch Manager, Mount Hope. She began her banking career with First National Bank of South- ern Kansas (FNBSK) in 2002 as a teller. Brand was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager following the merger with The First in 2012. She holds an AA of Fine Arts from Hutchinson Community College and earned a Certificate of Supervision from Wichita State University. Stacy Ryder was promoted to Officer, Correspon - dent Bank Operations. She joined The First in 2000 in the Correspondent Bank Services department where she served as a Senior Bank Representative and as the Senior Cash Management Administra- tor. Ryder is responsible for the management of Correspondent Bank Services operations including implementation of product and service enhancements. Rebecca Salyers was promoted to Officer and Branch Manager, Goddard. She joined The First in 2014 as the Branch Manager, Goddard location.
