Leonard has been a leader in Kansas for many years. He brought passion to ABA advocacy efforts. Leonard played a critical role in shining a much needed spotlight on the Farm Credit System and the inequities that go with this government subsidized giant. Leonard also brought his voice to Washington on behalf of hundreds of fellow banker’s across the country to testify last July before the House Agriculture Committee. He made it clear in no uncertain terms “that the Farm Credit System is no longer lending on the farm.” Since then, Leonard has often been called by members of Congress to help them better understand the issue and he has been a driving force in convincing other ag bankers to vigorously express their views. Beware FCS, Leonard has you in his sights. John Rolf, Country Club Bank, Kansas City John F. Rolf has been appointed chief risk officer for Country Club Bank, Kansas City, Missouri. In this executive position he is responsible for overseeing the bank’s risk management function, including risk analysis, internal audit, compliance and loss-prevention programs. “John Rolf is a tenured professional with many years of experience providing audit and consulting services to the banking industry. We are especially pleased to attract someone of his integrity and high caliber to join our executive team,” said Paul J. Thompson, president and CEO of Country Club Bank. Bank of Hays The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) recognized Bank of Hays in a short video clip as part of their celebration of Community Banking Month, in April. Bank of Hays, which launched roughly 10 years ago to fill the need for a locally based banking option for local residents and small businesses. The founders formed a hometown community bank because they wanted to put financial resources to work in their backyard to energize their local economy and create opportunities for local residents. Shannon Holmberg, First National Bank of Hutchinson Shannon Holmberg was recently hired as Officer, Personal Trust Services in the First Wealth Management department. Prior to joining The First, Shannon was an attorney for Gilliland & Hayes, LLC. A native of Larned, she earned a B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude from Fort Hays State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law. Shannon and her family reside in Hutchinson where she is active in her children’s events. She currently serves on the Wesley Towers, Inc. Board of Directors and is a member of Young Professionals of Reno County. Shannon is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association and the Reno County Bar Association where she previously served as Treasurer. Clair S. Anderson Clair S. Anderson, age 94, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina. He began his banking career at Exchange National Bank (later called Exchange Bank of Clyde) where he worked for over 50 years and retired as bank President. He married Wilda Graham on December 1946.
