l e a d i n g a d v o c a t e f o r t h e b a n k i n g i n d u s t r y i n k a n s a s 10 K ansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt has announced the appointment of Jay Kennedy of Frankfort to the Sunflower Foundation Board of Trustees. Kennedy serves as president and CEO of First National Bank in Frankfort. He is also an agent and owner of First Frankfort Insurance. Kennedy is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Caring Communities Foundation, a newly formed extension of the Community HealthCare System based in Onaga. Kennedy has previously served as president of his local rotary club and a member of the Board of Directors for Leadership Kansas. In addition, Kennedy has been a volunteer football coach at Frankfort High School since 2004. He is a 1994 graduate of Emporia State University and a 2014 graduate from Barret School of Banking in Memphis, TN. Schmidt appointed Kennedy to a three year term on the board, which will expire in June 2018. D ustin Quint, president of Community National Bank & Trust in Arkansas City, is pleased to announce that Wilson Long has joined Community National Bank & Trust in Ark City as a credit analyst. “The addition of Wilson will be very beneficial to assist in the growth that we are experiencing here in Ark City and across Cowley County. Wilson has all the tools to be a great analyst and hopefully a great lender in the future. He is sharp with numbers, shows a willingness to learn and has great communication skills. It will be fun watching him progress as a young banker and feel that Wilson will be a very valuable asset to the bank and to the community as we continue to grow and maintain long lasting relationships in Ark City and surrounding areas,” stated Quint. Wilson, born and raised in Winfield, is a son of Jeff and Jill Long. He graduated from Winfield High School in 2010 and from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2014. “I am very excited to be back in Cowley County and am honored to be a part of such a great team of people here at Community National Bank & Trust, that not only do we have in Ark City, but that we have in all of our different locations across Southern Kansas,” Long said. D ebbie Wise has announced her retirement from First Kansas Bank. She is assistant vice pres- ident and security Officer for the bank. Paul Snapp commented, “Since joining First Kansas Bank, Debbie has brought her knowledge of the community and friendly attitude to our customers. Our bank team and customers will miss her infectious enthusiasm.” Wise started in banking on April 1, 1975, with American State Bank, which eventually made the transition to Bank of America. She worked with loans, business banking and management of the bank. Wise joined First Kansas Bank on May 28, 2008, focus- ing on customer service and business development. Wise is a longtime resident of Great Bend and plans to spend more time with family and friends. Her husband Dennis works at KMW in Great Bend. Her daughter Melissa Amerine and husband Craig also live in Great Bend with their two children, Kaeli and Kaeden. Her last day with the bank will be in early June.
