June 2016 9 l e a d i n g a d v o c a t e f o r t h e b a n k i n g i n d u s t r y i n k a n s a s Advanced School of Banking Scholarship MARK STARR First National Bank, Oberlin Mark is the Assistant Vice President for First National Bank in Oberlin, Kansas, having joined the bank in August of 2012. He is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. His current responsibilities include Agriculture, Commercial, Consumer and Real Estate Lending. In addition he is the Assistant Jr. High football coach in Oberlin and the voice of the Decatur Community High School Red Devils sports also in Oberlin, KS. State School Scholarship BRYAN VON FELDT Astra Bank, Hays Bryan graduated from Fort Hays University with a financial planning and banking degree in 2007. During his eight-year tenure at Astra Bank, he has had the opportunity to work in almost every area of the bank and now serves as CFO. Outside of banking, Bryan serves as the head golf coach for Thomas More Prep-Marian High School in Hays and has a one-year-old son with his wife, Brittney. Scholarship recipients to the Southwest Graduate School of Banking receive $1,000 per year for each year of attendance at the school. Scholarship recipients are graduates of the School of Banking Fundamentals and receive $350 per year of attendance at the two-year Advanced School of Banking.
