Hopper was elected president shortly thereafter. There have been seven bank presidents over the century that have been in business: J.C. Hopper (4 years), Ezra Good (5 years), G.A. Goodman (24 years), O.J. Weir (7 years), L.A. Krug (23 years), Boyd Beutler (26 years), Kevin Beutler (10 years). In 1966, Boyd Beutler was hired as a cashier. Other Beutler family members currently involved in the bank include Kevin Buetler, Karen Seib, and Julie Beutler. KURT KNUTSON APPOINTED TO THE CONSENSUS REVENUE WORKING GROUP TASK FORCE OFFERING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MODIFYING THE ESTIMATING PROCESS Kurt Knutson, founder and CEO of Freedom Bank, Overland Park, was appointed to the Governor’s Consensus Revenue Estimating Working Group. Per statute, the consensus and revenue estimates (CRE) are used as the base for budget development by the legislature and governor. Due to the significant variances between the original estimates and actual receipts, it has been difficult to develop and maintain a stable budget. As a result, Governor Brownback asked a working group to make recommendations on the following: The consensus revenue estimating (CRE) process, tax policy fiscal notes, the tax policy’s effect on revenue estimates. THOMPSON TO LEAD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BANKING AT COLORADO Paul Thompson, chairman, chief executive officer and president, Country Club Bank, Kansas City, Mo., has been appointed chair of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC) for its 2016-17 academic year. Country Club Bank is a $1.3 billion commercial bank serving the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area, which also owns and operates a $2.4 billion trust company and a Capital Markets Group that serves community banks in 35 states.
