Oleta was born on March 2, 1945 in Chanute, KS, the daughter of Oren William Hazen and Faye Lenora (Peacock) Pruitt. Oleta married Donald Lewis Schooley on April 19, 1963 in Chanute and they celebrated 53 years of marriage this year. Oleta loved quilting and when she was not quilting, she was spending time with her grandkids. She worked in the banking industry for 32 years and was with Community National Bank for 19 years as Executive VP-Cashier. Oleta was a board member and president of the Chanute Chamber of Commerce. She was one of the founding members of the Chanute Main Street and also served as president and board member. Oleta was also a member of the Chanute Rotary Club, Business and Professional Woman’s Foundation and was an active member at the Church of the Nazarene in Chanute. Oleta is survived by: Husband: Donald Schooley of Topeka, KS. Sons: Derrell Schooley of Topeka, KS, and David Schooley and wife Cynthia Roberts of Olathe, KS. JUDD A. DURNER, BURRTON Judd Alden Durner, 80, of Burrton, died October 31, 2016, at Via Christi on St. Francis Campus, Wichita. He was born October 7, 1936, in Bern, to Clyde and Ada (Frieburghouse) Durner. Judd graduated from Bern High School in 1954 and the University of Kansas in 1958. He worked in the banking industry for over 60 years, serving as state bank examiner from 1962 until assuming ownership and presidency of the State Bank of Burrton in 1966. Judd served as Mayor of the city of Burrton, and, during his tenure, the city won the City PRIDE Award. He was also in the Median Shrine in Wichita and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Judd was a member of Burrton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sports, golfing, trips to Las Vegas with friends, Burrton High School sporting events, and especially Kansas Jayhawks basketball. On August 3, 1962, Judd married Rosie P. Snyder in Wichita. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Josh A. Durner and his wife Sara of Burrton, and grandson, Levi Durner.
