Stockgrowers received the award in Wichita at the State FCCLA Leadership Conference on April 4. The business was nominated because of their dedication to Wabaunsee High School’s FCCLA chapter. Businesses are selected based upon their support for their local FCCLA/FACS Program. Stockgrowers has been involved in the FACS program by helping to prepare members and students for the roles they may have later on in life. They have purchased an online financial program called Everfi for students enrolled in Consumer and Personal Finance classes as well as a checking account simulation. They are always willing to come to the school and speak to the students about different financial matters. They have also served as interviewers for mock interviews of FCCLA members. Stockgrowers is always very generous to donate money whenever their local chapter has a fundraiser or when they need financing to host an event, activity, or to make it to State or National Competitions. They have also allowed the chapter to come and paint windows for the YWCA Week Without Violence to promote awareness for domestic violence. Wabaunsee’s FCCLA chapter is very grateful for everything they do to support their chapter and FCCLA. “Stockgrowers has done so much for us. This was a way to give them the recognition they deserve and show just how much we appreciate them,” said Wabaunsee FCCLA Chapter’s Vice President Lizzie Erikson.
