All appointments are effective Jan. 1, 2018. At the Kansas City headquarters office, Patricia J. Minard, president and chief executive officer, Southwest National Bank, Wichita, Kan., was elected to a three-year term by Group 1 banks as a Class A director, representing commercial banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System. Ms. Minard previously was a member of the Bank’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council. DougWarehamGraduates from Institute for OrganizationManagement A Leadership Training Program Produced by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, is pleased to announce that Doug Wareham, IOM, Executive Vice President-Chief Operating Officer, of the Kansas Bankers Association, has graduated from the program and has received the recognition of IOM. Awarded to all graduates of the Institute program, the IOM Graduate Recognition signifies the individual’s completion of 96 hours of course instruction in nonprofit management and leadership development. Nearly 1,000 individuals attend Institute annually. Kendall State Bank Hires Daniel Meehan as CEO Kendall State Bank President, Jayne L. Coleman, announces that the Board of Directors has hired Daniel P. Meehan, Baldwin City, Kansas, as Chief Executive Office of the bank as of January 1, 2018. In making this announcement Coleman said that this is part of the bank succession plan in order for Jayne and Gary Coleman to head toward retirement in the next five to seven years, while transitioning to the younger generation. Jayne Coleman, President and Gary Coleman, Sr. Vice President will continue in their same capacities until that time. Dan Meehan, 54, graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985. He has had a 26 year career in community banking, starting at Kendall State Bank in the early 1990’s and then at 1st Financial Bank, Alterra Bank and Key Bank in the metro Kansas City area and recently Kansas State Bank in Baldwin City. Meehan and his wife, Becky will continue to reside in Baldwin City for now. Becky works for the Baldwin City School District. Dan and Becky have three grown children, Rob Meehan, Overland Park, Kansas, Mikaela Meehan, Kansas City, Missouri and McKenzie Meehan, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Impact Bank Executive Vice President DavidM. Carr Retires David M. Carr, Executive Vice President of Impact Bank, is celebrated by the banking community on the occasion of his retirement, effective February 1, 2018. With a family legacy in the banking community since 1901, Carr’s outstanding career began in 1973 and has included posts at the Wilmette Bank in Illinois, the First National Bank of Wellington, Caldwell State Bank and Impact Bank. As a member of the Kansas Bankers Association board of directors, Carr worked on several committees and in 2006 the Carr Family was recognized for a Century of Family Banking. His career has focused on stewarding the trust of community members and helping them achieve financial success. David has served as president of First Financial Corporation, the parent company of Impact Bank and currently serves as vice chair. In 2012, First National Bank of Wellington and Caldwell State Bank merged to become Impact Bank where Carr continues to serve on the board of directors. TomPage Retires from Emprise Bank KBA staff recently attended a retirement reception for Emprise Bank President/CEO Tom Page (center). Page helped lead Emprise Bank for the past 23 years and he served on KBA’s board of directors. Tom was also a long-standing member of KBA’s Federal Affairs Committee. Congratulations Tom! Matt Sheets NamedMarket President at First National Bank Matt Sheets has been promoted to First National Bank’s Kansas market president, announced David E. Cota, executive vice president, Wholesale Banking. Sheets previously served as managing director, Commercial Banking. Sheets replaces David Janus, senior vice president, who was recently promoted to lead First National Bank’s Wealth Management Group in Omaha, Nebraska. In his new role as market president, Sheets will oversee the local Commercial Banking teams and coordinate the delivery of all aspects of Wholesale Banking in the Greater Kansas City area, plus the bank’s locations in Texas, Cota said.
