l e a d i n g a d v o c a t e f o r t h e b a n k i n g i n d u s t r y i n k a n s a s 8 BLOK SESSION T he 2018 Bank Leaders of Kansas program kicked off Tuesday, February 6th at the KBAoffice. 20 banking leaders from across our beautiful state met to begin their year-long endeavor to learn more about state and national government issues as they pertain to our industry, as well as gain useful leadership skills to carry them through their banking careers. Now in its 13th year, the BLOK program trains and educates bank officers from all levels of management to prepare them to better serve their bank, state, and association. After an overview of the program by KBA’s EVP-COO Doug Wareham, the class was tasked with getting to know each other during an ice-breaker exercise. Following many laughs and personal stories shared during the class mixer, a complete summary of the history, structure and governance of the KBA was outlined by KBA President Chuck Stones. Staff spotlights allowed senior management to share their roles and areas of expertise with the class, and to become more aware of how each department at the KBA can assist them and their banks.
