A s 2018 draws to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank my staff colleagues for working extremely hard to ensure the KBA didn’t miss a beat during this transitional year. The simple fact is you’d be hard pressed to find a state association team with the rare combination of veteran experience and next-generation talent that I have the pleasure of working with at the KBA office. One of my top priorities from this point forward will be to ensure Kansas bankers are served by a highly trained, knowledgeable, service-minded staff team that truly believes in the mission of our organization. Helping me accomplish this objective is a magnificent group of seven (pictured below), that join me as part of KBA’s staff leadership team. While you’ll recognize several KBA staff veterans below, you’ll also see some newcomers to KBA’s staff leadership team including Brenda Unruh, recently promoted to Senior Vice President – Administration & Member Services; Eric Stofer, recently promoted to Senior Vice President/CFO and Alex Orel, hired this past summer as KBA’s new Senior Vice President of Government Relations. These three professionals are bringing fresh new perspectives that are being coupled with the veteran staff leadership (Herb Iams, President - KBA Insurance; Kathy Taylor EVP – General Counsel; Becky Tongish, SVP – Educational Resources; and Terri Thomas, SVP – Legal Department) that Kansas bankers have relied upon for more than three decades. In addition to highlighting KBA’s new leadership team below, I also wanted to share a new organizational chart, found on the following page, that features the entire KBA staff team. Kathy Taylor Team KBA Since 1988 Doug Wareham Team KBA Since 2004 Herb Iams Team KBA Since 1982 Becky Tongish Team KBA Since 1980 Terri Thomas Team KBA Since 2006 Brenda L. Unruh Team KBA Since 2013 Eric Stofer Team KBA Since 2012 Alex Orel Team KBA Since 2018
