KBA President & CEO Doug Wareham was proud to present a 50-Year Club plaque to Ben Meek, Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Kaw Valley State Bank & Trust Co. in Wamego. Mr. Meek discovered his love for banking during an internship at his uncle’s bank, Kaw Valley State Bank in Wamego. After a brief stint at a bank in Topeka, Kaw Valley was able to offer him a full-time position in 1972. He was an integral part of the bank during a period of expansion and rose to the office as President in 1980. In recent years, he has taken on a lighter work schedule and currently serves as the vice president and chief investment officer. The Kansas Bankers Association congratulates Ben Meek on a successful banking career! Pat Marso began his banking career in 1968 as a loan officer at Norwest Bank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and was soon promoted Assistant Bank Manager the following year. He also held various management positions at both Union State Bank and First National Bank in South Dakota before becoming chairman, president, and CEO at Condon National Bank in Coffeyville from 1983 to 1995. He then became an independent financial planning contractor for Investment Centers of America in Bismark, North Dakota from 1995 to 2004. He moved back to Kansas in 2004 and became senior vice president at Country Club Financial Services where he continues a very successful financial planning practice inside the bank. He also served on the KBA Board of Directors as well as on the education and human resources committee. Congratulations Pat!
