Unruh, Senior Vice President, Administration and Member Services A dequately staffing your bank with top-notch employees can be a challenge no matter the size of your bank, the location, or even the job itself. Fortunately, the Kansas Bankers Association has several resources to help you! If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit our newly redesigned website, we encourage you to do so! There is a new tab towards the top of the page that is titled “Careers/ Scholarships”. Clicking on the tab opens a drop-down menu to allow you to select from job services, scholarships, and internships. While many of our bankers are familiar with our job services board, we encourage you to post any job openings that you have with the KBA in addition to your other methods of advertising. Any questions about this free service can be directed to Julie Taylor at the KBA. Additionally, we are delighted to have BankTalentHQ as one of our Endorsed Vendors! KBA has partnered with BankTalentHQ to help you find the best employee for the job from across the nation. Brought to you by an alliance of state banking associations, BankTalentHQ is the premier talent management site, competing directly with the other big nationwide talent search agencies, but it is specifically focused on financial industry careers. If you are looking for extraordinary talent, and haven’t tried BTHQ yet, call Brenda Unruh at the KBA for a special first-time user discount code to be used for a 30-day posting. Lastly, we are excited to announce the re-launch of our internship program! A new guidebook has been written by KBA staff in order to assist you in managing your existing program or beginning a new one. Internships provide students and potential bankers with the opportunity to gain real world experience in settings outside the classroom, meeting both academic and applied learning goals. KBA’s goal is to facilitate a means to provide practical and extensive training to students who genuinely want to make banking their career. A bank internship will help students build work history, expand professional skill sets and lay the foundation for a future banking career. At the same time, banks benefit from the fresh ideas and new perspectives that accompany interns, along with the completion of important projects and low-cost solutions for recruiting and developing Kansas’ next generation of banking talent. Should you have questions about the guidebook, please contact Becky Tongish or Brenda Unruh at the KBA.
