He completed the graduate program in banking at the University of Wisconsin and attended Harvard University’s senior bank officer seminar. Andy and his family moved to Topeka in 1958 after purchasing Fidelity State Bank and Trust Company. He served as both president and chairman of the board until 2009. In May of 2018, the 60th anniversary of his joining the bank, Andy retired as chairman of the board. He remained chairman emeritus until his death. Andy served as President of the Kansas Bankers Association, Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Greater Topeka, Downtown Topeka, Inc., Young Men’s Christian Association, and the Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas. Richard Joseph “Rick” Schenk Richard Joseph “Rick” Schenk, 65, entered the gates of heaven with his beloved wife of 40 years, Annie, passing away Oct. 20, 2019, in Angel Fire, New Mexico. Rick was born April 14, 1954 at Great Bend, to Bernard Richard and Mary Jo (Riedel) Schenk. Rick married Ann Jane “Annie” Linsner Aug. 18, 1979, at Olmitz, Kansas. Rick, a resident of Great Bend since moving in 1988 from Olmitz, was the CEO of Community Bank of the Midwest. Rick was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council #2100, Olmitz, EAA flight club, Young Eagles Association, and enjoyed a men's card group. Ronald W. Sheddrick Ronald William Sheddrick went on to be with his Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, on Oct. 26, 2019, at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Ron was born June 6, 1940, in Rich Hill, Missouri, to Wilma and Donald Sheddrick. He moved to Oswego, Kansas, as a young child. Ron graduated from Oswego High School in 1958 and Parsons Junior College in 1960. He married Chris Cox Nov. 19, 1961, in Parsons, Kansas. Ron was drafted into the Army in 1962 and served until 1964. He worked at First National Bank in Oswego, Kansas, from 1969 to 1987. Ron helped startup Community National Bank and Trust in Chanute, Kansas, in 1987. He continued working there until his death. James “Jim” Joseph Stackhaus Jim passed away Sept. 27, 2019, at his residence in Kansas City, Kansas. Jim was born Nov. 25, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Joseph Richard Stackhaus and Marie F. Bauer. Jim met the love of his life, Deb, in about 1970. They were officially married April 28, 1973, and they remained together in love until his death. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1972. He earned a hard-earned college degree later in life and worked as a banker for most of his life. He was most recently vice president compliance at Union State Bank in Everest. He owned a few small businesses during that time, including a lawn service, which he worked with Deb for more than 20 years
