McVicker Receives 50-Year Club Award

Congratulations to Earl McVicker on his 50 years in banking! Since 1992, Earl has served as Chairman, President and CEO of the Central Financial Corporation in Hutchinson. He also serves as the Director (2001 to present) and Chairman (2020 to present) for Community First National Bank in Manhattan.

After graduating from Kansas State University with his Bachelor of Science, Earl started banking in 1971 as a Teller/Bookkeeper at Bazine State Bank in Bazine, KS. In 1974, he moved to Glenwood Springs, CO, to become the Vice President of Agricultural, Commercial and Real Estate Lending at First National Bank until 1976. He then served as Vice President of Agricultural and Commercial Lending at First National Bank in Dodge City from
1977 to 1982.

In 1983, Earl became the President and CEO of Hays State Bank in Hays and then from 1984 to 1992, he was the President and CEO of Central National Bank and Trust Co. in Hutchinson. From 1992 to 2018, Earl was the President, Chairman and majority owner of Central Bank and Trust Co. in Hutchinson.

From 1995 to the present, Earl has been instrumental in chartering numerous new community banks in Kansas and throughout the south and southwest United States. He has served as chairman for five different community banks in three states and as director or advisory director of eleven community banks in six states.

Earl has also served in numerous banking positions with the Kansas Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association, including KBA chairman in 2000-2001 and as ABA chairman in 2006-2007.

We all recognize that Earl couldn’t have had a better partner than his lovely wife, Molly, who is a great Kansas leader in her own right. Please help congratulate Earl McVicker on his 50 years in Kansas banking!

Bank of Labor Promotion

Susie Roberts, Bank of Labor in Kansas City, has been promoted to First Vice President and Trust Officer. Congrats, Susie!

Orel Elected by Association Peers as Officer of KSAE

Alex Orel, KBA’s SVP of Government Relations, has been nominated by association peers to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of the Kansas Society of Association Executives (KSAE). KSAE is, like KBA, an association with a mission to promote professional excellence in association management and provide education and training opportunities for association professionals. Orel has served on KSAE’s Board of Directors for the last three years and previously served on their Government Relations Committee. He will serve as Secretary-Treasurer and will then go on through the different board positions. Orel will become KSAE Board President in two years.
